Well, it is finally finished – welcome to our new site! If you’ve bookmarked Jerry by the Sea, please update it – I’ll be blogging over here from now on, and while the website address is the same, the blog address has changed a little bit.
There are so many great things happening around the cottages these days. We’ve been doing lots of renovations, we have a new online booking system, and of course the new site.
To celebrate, we’ve got a bunch of things up our sleeves:
1. We’re rolling out a special New Year’s Resolution package (and we’ve already got a BOGO sale going on!). Makes a great gift (hint hint), and I can’t think of a better way to spend your holiday week then in our cozy cottages by the sea.
2. We’re starting a fun contest. The prize – your choice of either a two night stay at one of our cottages, or two cottages for one night each (great option for big families and groups!).
That’s right – it’s your chance to win a free stay at the ocean’s edge! We’ll be picking the winner in a random draw on Dec. 31 – that gives you plenty of time to enter and spread the word. Please let all your friends know – maybe if they win, they’ll take you along!
There are 3 ways to enter – you can even take advantage of them all!
- Make sure you ‘Like’ us on Facebook (we’ll be checking!), then leave a comment here below on this blog post. Let us know what your New Year’s Resolution is ….. Or if you don’t have one, why not ….. Make sure you leave a legitimate email address so we can reach you if you win (and don’t worry, your email isn’t published).
- Find us over on Twitter. If you have an account, you’ll see a Tweet in our account that will give you instructions on a second entry. (If you win through Twitter, we’ll contact you through Direct Message to get your email)
- If you have a blog or Tumblr account, write a post on Ocean Delight including a link to this post. And if you do, make sure you email us to let us know!
GOOD LUCK!!! And stay tuned to Jerry by the Sea for the winner!
My NYR is to ensure 2013 is even better than 2012! And that’s saying something because 2012 was awesome. I know that a free stay in a wickedly beautiful cottage would be a great start!
Couldn’t agree more, Laurie, and thanks for being the first to comment!
My new years resolution is to try to quit smoking again! It is a very tough resolution but i’m sure if I stick to it I will get it done! 🙂
We couldn’t wish you more luck, Tonya!

Great job Jerry & Berry. Hope it is a banner year for you both!
Thank you, Albert – likewise.
My New Year’s Resolution is to be as patient as possible until my Aug/13 visit. Now that’s a hard one as whenever I visit NL I feel like I’m returning home. Something just keeps calling me back.
Beautiful, Ann, thank you.
My NYR is to travel more!
Well let us help you with that, lol!
My NYR is to take a bit more time to “stop and smell the roses!”
Great – I think we all need that!
My resolution this year is to plan ahead more and not leave things to the last minute 🙂
Hope to see you guys in the spring!!!!
Ditto!
My New Years resolution is to try to relax more and stress less! Take more time to just slow down and enjoy life 🙂
Well then Lori do we have the spot for you! 😉
2013…. I plan to take more time to plan meals and relax and enjoy the time around the table… Out with the hurry and quick unplanned evenings. More relaxing dinner hours 🙂
Lingering over dinner is the best!
I welcome 2013 and I look forward to my many vacations at home in Newfoundland. I promise to promote all amazing local businesses like yours. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Definitely look forward to my next!
Thank you so much for the lovely comment and support. Happy Holidays!
For 2013 I wish health and happiness for my family and friends, and the safe arrival, in May, of my grandchild in Victoria, BC.
My husband and I would love to spend some time at your beautiful cottages ! The sound and sight of the sea and the tranquility will be music to our souls !!!
Blessings,
Judy-Ann Watson
Thanks, Judy-Ann – glad we got the link sorted out! Best wishes for the health and happiness of your family, too. Happy Holidays!
My New Years’s resolution is to stop putting things off! I have a huge tendency to put things off instead of just doing it. Another is to spend more quality time with hubby!
Thanks, Deanne – that’s a problem for a lot of us! And we know a great place to spend more quality time, hint hint! 🙂
great place to stay and i look forward to doing so again. 2013 – a year to count our blessings and our calories!!!!!!
LOL!
We had two trips out your way in 2012. Stayed two nights in each of your locations. Loved them both! I retire in 2013, so I know it will be a great year and we look forward to more visits to Ocean Delight!
So glad you enjoyed it and we look forward to seeing you again!

Hey, everyone has such great resolutions! Our new years resolution is to get away more often and get to enjoy each others company.
Love it! Good luck! 🙂
Stayed at you’re cabins a few times…..never wanted to leave, peaceful and tranquil.
Now newly single, not by choice. what better place to find “MYSELF” than by that beautiful waters edge???
I certainly need that little piece of heaven!!!!
Linda, we wish you all the tranquility you need! Happy Holidays!
I resolve to spend more time with Jerry and Laurelyn…and perhaps be less pugnacious…maybe stop harassing my MP so much…do a little more for my neighbours…read more books…let’s face it…I gotta be me. luv!
LOL, and don’t ever stop being you!
We stayed at your cottages last Spring and it was the “Perfect” weekend getaway we needed! We would love to win our stay this year!
Thanks, Kelly – good luck!
My New Years Resolution is to have 1/2 my goal weight gone so that I can participate in the Tely 10. It’s always being my dream to be in the race and I am working hard on that goal and WILL be in the race this year. Then after the race a nice stay to relax and rejuvenate
Thanks, Amanda! What an awesome resolution – good luck!
Happy New Year, ODC!!! I don’t have a New Years Resolution cause I think they are stupid…no one keeps them, in my opinion!! I don’t need a calendar to tell me to make a change..if I need to (rarely) I own it and do it!! Take after my UNCLE in that regard!!! Just kidding, well, maybe a little!! All the best in the New Year & an extra big Hi to Murphy..have to bring Phoenix out to visit with him again soon!! xo
Hope you do – Murphy misses his little (so to speak) buddy! And we agree, Robin – don’t ever change! 🙂
I was there and loved it the smell of the salt water and watching the boys hauling the lobster pots in the morning it was just like where im from really nice place and I don’t have a New Years Resolution and if I did it would be to lose 20LB but I loves food to much so f*** that lol
LOL – nice sentiments, Scott. Getting ready for the draw – good luck to all!
if bj is there now say hello to him for me lol
