Birds, Bergs, and Boat Tours

Love natural life? We’ve got it in droves. We’re minutes away from boat tours to get up close and personal to whales, eagles, ice bergs, seabirds, stunning scenery – everything  this place is known for!

And remember, Trinity Bay is a bird- and whale-watcher’s paradise – so you never know what you’re going to see while relaxing in nature’s paradise, on your own private deck.

Take a Swing

Practice your swing at Pitcher’s Pond, a nine-hole, challenging course  and driving range surrounded by beautiful scenery, just minutes from our cottages right here in Whiteway.

Take a Hike

There’s so much to explore all around the cottages, so don’t forget your hiking shoes!

We have lots of great walking trails out here on the Baccalieu Coastal Drive, near the cottages. So many, indeed, that we haven’t even had a chance to explore them all!

Here are a few nearby favourites:

Heart’s Delight-Islington – Don’t forget your camera for these picture-perfect trails along Route 80, not far from the cottages.

  • Western Point Hiking Trail – 1 km linear walk along ocean’s edge.
  • Northern Point Hiking Trail – 3.12 km easy to moderate, return loop. Along the ocean as well.

Whiteway – The Jimmy Rowe walking trail around the pond. 35 min loop, some steepish hills, parking, picnic spots and new swimming area make this a favourite spot for locals.

Salmon Cove Beach & Hiking Trail (Beach Road, off Rte 70, Salmon Cove,
Conception Bay). The heart shaped beach of Salmon Cove offers 500 metres of fine grey sand surrounded by imposing cliffs. A 2km hiking trail and a warm water river running into the Atlantic Ocean make it a perfect spot for a picnic.

Meet some Local Talent

The Baccalieu Coastal Drive is bursting with talented local artists. Favourites include Clifford George the charming story-teller and Newfoundland pony advocate who lives in Whiteway and creates fabulously colourful landscapes; Jeanette Jobson, artist and owner of the masterfully curated Baccalieu Gallery ‘just down the shore’ in beautiful Heart’s Content.
