Two Weeks to Go til the Devotion Show!

Ad for wedding show in NewfoundlandNow that we’re back home (yay!), we’re in full-on wedding more (and full-on cottage mode, and full-on everything else mode, too!). And we know with wedding season coming up, lots of brides out there are in planning-mode, too. If that applies to you, we highly recommend checking out the Devotion Wedding Show, coming up quickly. We’ll have a booth there, and (hint hint) probably some fun giveaways, too. Hope to see you there this March!

A Final Look

newfoundland cottage owners on vacation in mexicoOur Mexican journey has officially come to an end –  it’s all over but the beautiful memories. We’re sure it’s going to take a few days to settle back into things, but it’s good to be on the way home. We’re so grateful that we got to spend the time together, working on work, working on fun. Now we’re refreshed and ready to make our summer cottage and wedding season our best one yet. And please stay tuned to the blog, as we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled Newfoundland blogging, too! In the meantime, here’s what Jerry and The Berry look like in the sun!

While We Fly, Rupert

cat in knit wearWell, our little sojourn in the sun has come to a close. We’ll miss the beach, but we’ve also missed the beach, the Newfoundland one in front of our cottages. Today we fly home, so today the blog is brief, with a picture of my daughter’s kitten, Rupert, taken this Valentine’s Day, thrown in for good measure. Newfoundland, here we come!

Margarita-ville, Or Something Like It

Relaxing in MexicoYes, our days in Mexico are numbered. We’re done lots of planning, and we’ll be excited to get home, to our beautiful Newfoundland cottages and all our sweet animals. But, while we can – we relax! And we sip! And soak up the sun! But we’ve got lots of fun stuff up our sleeves for when we come back – stay tuned!

Sunset Sunday: No Place Like Home!

Shag Rock in NewfoundlandWe’ve been sharing a lot of Mexican sunsets lately, so I dug through my Shag Rock treasure trove to find one of my favourite oldies. What’s crazy about this is picture is the fact that these colours don’t even do it justice. Pink and purple and yellow – it doesn’t get any brighter, or better, than the sun setting over Shag Rock.

Happy Valentine’s!

valentine's greetings from the beachHappy Valentine’s Day, one and all! We hope you have a fun day filled with sweet surprises. We know that there’s been some inclement weather at home (to say the least), so we hope you have a warm Valentine to cuddle up with!

Sweet Praise from a Sweet Bride

Saltscapes MagazineLook what our lovely bride Danielle recently emailed us. It’s a copy of an interview she did in Saltscapes Magazine, talking about her gorgeous wedding last summer at The Doctor’s House.  We loved having her and her wonderful family and groom, and we’re happy to see that they enjoyed themselves too! But don’t take our word for it:

“There is something so genuine and sincere about the property. When we drove there the first time and rounded the turn to see the white fences with the Newfoundland ponies, the beautiful trees and flowers giving the land all sorts of colours, and then met Rosie the goat, I was sold ….. The barn is every ‘rustic-chic bride’s’ dream. It truly is. They kept the integrity of the structure and accented it with beautiful drapes to lead into the room and stunning chandeliers … Without decorating at all it creates a perfect backdrop.”
