Yes, we enjoyed all our time in Mexico, and yes, it was nice and warm, and yes, they had beautiful sunsets there, too. But ahhh, is there anything better than coming home, especially when home is the Wonderful World of Whiteway? We’re truly blessed!
Budding Saturday: Raise a Glass
Saturdays we often celebrate the Wonderful World as Captured by Bud Vincent, our friend and Newfoundland photographer extraordinaire. It’s been a busy few days getting back to normal out here. We just might kick back with one of these tonight!
I Missed You!
It’s good to be home, here at our cottages. On arrival we were greeted by 4 lovelycats and two over-sized dogs. I only have a picture of the forlorn, I-am-so-glad-you’re-back-I-really-missed-you Friday here. Trust us – there were lots and lots of cuddles this evening!
The house is lovely, the snow is beautiful – although we only have a few inches (gratefully). Settling back in after a long away is always nice. Familiarity is its own reward. And there is nothing like the bed your body has trained to fit you. The same old blankets, smells, dogs snoring, cats playing, fridge creaking, ocean singing, thoughts wandering – ahhhh! Home is home!
Two Weeks to Go til the Devotion Show!
Now that we’re back home (yay!), we’re in full-on wedding more (and full-on cottage mode, and full-on everything else mode, too!). And we know with wedding season coming up, lots of brides out there are in planning-mode, too. If that applies to you, we highly recommend checking out the Devotion Wedding Show, coming up quickly. We’ll have a booth there, and (hint hint) probably some fun giveaways, too. Hope to see you there this March!
A Final Look
Our Mexican journey has officially come to an end – it’s all over but the beautiful memories. We’re sure it’s going to take a few days to settle back into things, but it’s good to be on the way home. We’re so grateful that we got to spend the time together, working on work, working on fun. Now we’re refreshed and ready to make our summer cottage and wedding season our best one yet. And please stay tuned to the blog, as we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled Newfoundland blogging, too! In the meantime, here’s what Jerry and The Berry look like in the sun!
While We Fly, Rupert
Well, our little sojourn in the sun has come to a close. We’ll miss the beach, but we’ve also missed the beach, the Newfoundland one in front of our cottages. Today we fly home, so today the blog is brief, with a picture of my daughter’s kitten, Rupert, taken this Valentine’s Day, thrown in for good measure. Newfoundland, here we come!
Margarita-ville, Or Something Like It
Yes, our days in Mexico are numbered. We’re done lots of planning, and we’ll be excited to get home, to our beautiful Newfoundland cottages and all our sweet animals. But, while we can – we relax! And we sip! And soak up the sun! But we’ve got lots of fun stuff up our sleeves for when we come back – stay tuned!
Sunset Sunday: No Place Like Home!
We’ve been sharing a lot of Mexican sunsets lately, so I dug through my Shag Rock treasure trove to find one of my favourite oldies. What’s crazy about this is picture is the fact that these colours don’t even do it justice. Pink and purple and yellow – it doesn’t get any brighter, or better, than the sun setting over Shag Rock.
Happy Valentine’s!
Last Day!
We’re sure you don’t need us to remind you, but there’s not much time left to get those Valentine’s! Remember that we’re offering Valentine’s gift certificates to The Doctor’s House – last minute gifts don’t get easier, or more sure to please. Our friend Mark Glynn has also complied some fun dates around St. John’s tomorrow – and many are free. Definitely worth checking out!
