What a beautiful day for a beautiful couple – here’s Susan and Scott, who got married last summer. The day before their wedding – rain. The day after their wedding – rain. The day of their wedding – blue skies ahead! Susan recently shared these lovely photos, taken by Farell Cahill Photography. We’ll be sharing more on Facebook and Pinterest, so be sure to follow us there. And thanks again to Susan and Scott, for sharing their day with us, and congratulations once more!
Sunset Sunday: More Sayulita
Ahhh, there are worse ways to spend a Sunday than this. But, there’s a giveaway that we’re missing home – last night we went to Murphy’s Irish Pub! It’s become a favourite spot of ours. We like to go with friends and talk about Newfoundland. We’ve met a few Newfoundlanders, and lots of Canadians. It’s always nice to be reminded of home!
Budding Saturday: Just Hanging Out
Thanks to Newfoundland photographer extraordinaire Bud Vincent for yet another great photo. Saturdays on the blog we like to showcase all things Newfoundland, and Bud’s a great resource for sure. So what are you up to today? We’re a little like this bird – just hanging out!
The Doctor’s Loft
Thanks to Shayla M Brown Photography and the lovely bride Megan who recently shared some of her wedding photos with us, we have this gorgeous shot of The Doctor’s Loft to share with you! The brain child of Laurelyn Berry and the hard work for many dedicated people, this showstopper banquet hall was quite the hit last summer – and we can’t wait for more weddings in 2015!
Rustic and elegant, The Doctor’s Loft can accommodate up to 200 guests with banquet seating, and up to 360 for cocktails. To learn more, please see here, and don’t forget to join us at the upcoming Devotion Bridal Show!
And Another Happy Couple!
When it rains, it pours, and we’ve had several brides share their stunning wedding photos with us lately. Here’s Samantha and Chris, who got married this past August. Samantha’s parents live just down the road from us – it’s always nice to meet our neighbours! Samantha also works in the tourism industry, and told us The Doctor’s House is the most beautiful place she’s ever seen (we’re blushing, but we concur!).
So thanks again to Samantha for sharing these gorgeous photos, and for sharing a part of your special day with us. Congratulations, and we wish you all the best!
Happy Memories with Meg and Chris
A hearty and belated congratulations to Megan and Chris, a beautiful young couple who got married at The Doctor’s House last July. As you can see, the had a creative and gorgeous wedding on a gorgeous day. These lovely photos were taken by Shayla M. Brown Photography, and, like always, we’ve shared more photos on our Facebook and Pinterest pages, so make sure to check us out there. And congratulations once again to the happy couple!
Frosty Festival Coming Soon!
Jerry raised his family in Mount Pearl, so it has a special place in his heart. And since we’re only about an hour outside Mount Pearl, we know lots of our guests hail from this great city. So here’s a friendly reminder that the Frosty Festival is coming up! Hard to believe it’s in its 33rd year – we remember the first! This year they’ve got lots of great events lined up, including an International Food and Craft Fair, Wine Tasting, and live show with Shanneyganock and The Irish Descendents. Not to be missed! Find all the details here.
Getting Busy on Pinterest!
Our Whiteway cottages are open all winter, but of course this season is a little slower for us. Which gives us extra time to turn to things like upping our social media game! To that extent, we’ve been having fun jumping into Pinterest. We have an account for The Doctor’s House, and already it’s so much fun getting involved with all you lovely pinners out there! So if you’re on Pinterst, please follow us. And we’re still on the ‘newbie’ side, so if you have any tips, we’d love to hear them!
