Just a little update from Mexico. Because yes, we already live in paradise, but everyone needs a break sometimes! The Berry and I have been recouping with her family in Sayulita, Mexico. It’s a surfing town, and we’ve had lots of fun watching the brave individuals out riding the waves. Of course, I’ve spend my life riding different types of waves, in the world of business. Perhaps I’ll have to be a little less literal now and actually go out and get a surf board. Surfing Jerry, here I come!
Meet Your New Digital Strategist!
Here’s Emily, our intrepid web designer and social media manager. She built this beautiful website, plus our sites for The Doctor’s House and the Shag It, too – all a great prices and on great timelines. Anytime we need her – to update our pages, put together a mailout, promote a special event (like the upcoming Devotion Show!) , you name it – she’s there to get our back. She’s friendly, super-professional, really responsive, and great at what she does. You can see more of her work, at Friendly New Media. And we just learned she’s currently taking on more clients – fellow small business owners, listen up! Clearly, she comes highly recommended!
Sunset Sunday: Twillingate
Budding Saturday: Fenced In
Another beautiful winter scene captured by Newfoundland photographer and friend, Bud Vincent. Bud has a new Facebook page – make sure you follow to get regular doses of Newfoundland exceptionalism! Be safe in the snow today (yes, we follow the weather reports, even on holiday!), and have a great weekend.
Brides, Mark Your Calendars
Brides and Grooms – mark your calendars. This year’s Devotion Wedding Show is coming up this March 8th, at the Mount Pearl Glacier. Jerry will be there with bells – and top hat! – on, and we hope to see you there!
Pony Break
Have you hugged a Newfoundland pony today? Well, at least now you can say you’ve oohed and aahed over one! We’re away on vacation, but we know our beautiful ponies, goat and sheep are all holding down the barn, quite literally, at The Doctor’s House. And our wonderful caretaker Perry is taking good care of them like always. Makes us realize that there’s no place like home!
And Now a Scientic Reason to Enjoy our Sleep In Special!
We’re open all winter, and we have some great, cozy-inducing specials to tempt you. And now science is backing us up! Turns our that cuddling releases oxytotocin, and cuddles that indulge frequently can actually get addicted to each other! Our Sleep In Special lets you do that just that, allotting lots of extra time in the morning for getting addicted! Check in after 1pm, and checkout the next day isn’t until 1pm. It’s the perfect tonic for the sleep deprived, and a great way to add a little partner-addiction to your relationship!
Still Accepting Applications for Housekeeping Staff
Just a reminder that we have several positions open at The Doctor’s House, which we hope to fill before we open again in the Spring. You can apply online, and we’re currently looking for Housekeeping staff (among others). We like to think we’re fun to work for, and know it’s fun to work as such a beautiful locale. Please take a look at our openings and see if you might fit into our team!
Monday Meow
Cats love high places! And we love our cats – and already miss them! It’s funny how they weasel into your hearts – we’re in this sunny place, and every time I turn a corner, I expect a little face to be looking up at me! We’re enjoying it here so far, trying to take a few days to ourselves to detox and decompress, and then The Berry and I are very excited to start talking about plans for Spring. Stay tuned!
Sunset Sunday from Bud!
Just because we’re on our way to Mexico, doesn’t mean our thoughts don’t constantly turn to Newfoundland! Here’s a gorgeous near sunset-scene, captured by our good friend and amazing photographer Bud Vincent. Here’s a cheers to the setting sun, wherever you may be this Sunday!
