Shag Rock Sunday: View from the Cranberry

Newfoundland Sleigh Ride Revisited
Since it’s getting to be that time of year, we thought we’d re -share one of our favourite parts of winter – Clifford’s sleigh rides! We still love this video (especially Sunny the Goat wagging her little tail!). We don’t have this much snow yet, but when we do – watch out!

Cozy New Winter Specials for our Whiteway Cottages
Winter is tough in Newfoundland – all the more reason to indulge in a getaway now and then! Since we’re just an hour outside St. John’s, we’ve always loved having winter guests at the cottages, which is why we’re keeping our Whiteway cottages all winter long. And which is also why The Berry has just come up with some extra-cozy winter specials, to make them just that bit more tempting. Whiteway Cottages Open All Winter!
We’re happy to announce that our Whiteway cottages are going to be open all winter long, even The Cranberry! And we’re soon going to be unveiling some specials that will make your stay just a little bit warmer, so please stay tuned. So many tourism operators in Newfoundland shut down over the winter, so we’re happy to provide getaway space for anyone who loves to be right on the water’s edge, no matter what time of year it is. Given the number of trails around us, it’s a great time for snowshoeing, skiddoing, or taking your dogs on some enthusiastic walks!
Voting Day
Just a reminder for all our local friends that today is voting day for the Trinity Bay de Verde by-elections. For more information, please see here, or open this PDF to find a polling station near you. It wasn’t too long ago that we were all proudly wearing our poppies. Voting is just as important, so please try to find time today!
Office Space
Talk about a room with a view. I’ve never had an office space quite like this one. Although I’ve never lived in a community quite like this one, either. We had a great weekend, and we’re starting to get into the busy Christmas season. Please note that The Doctor’s House will be open until Dec. 20, both the spa and the inn, and that we offer gift certificates – which make great gifts!
The Perfect Gift
For our money, both literal and figurative, experiences with loved ones are so much more valuable than things. Not that we don’t love presents under the tree as much as anyone, but we love when those gifts can really help us have more meaningful experiences.
