First Wedding of the Season!

Wedding at The Doctor's HouseBusy day = short post. Today’s our first wedding of the season at The Doctor’s House. Here’s a photo from last year, of Danielle and Christian. We’re sure today’s wedding will be equally lovely, and all our best wishes to the happy couple!

New Openings at The Doctor’s House

Sign at the doctor's houseWe’re gearing up for the summer season, and that means that we need to grow a little bit, too. We’ve added several positions to The Doctor’s House, and we’re currently looking for enthusiastic people who’d like to join our team. Specifically, we need Chef’s Apprentices, a Food & Beverages Services Supervisor, Kitchen and Spa Staff, and Dining & Banquet Servers. You can find all the details, as well as information about how to apply, here. And please share with any friends or family you think might be a great fit!

As Fresh as It Gets

Catching Lobster at our cottagesHere is Herman, a local fisherman, catching lobster about 100 feet in front of the cottages. He brought them over to us, and this was the result:

Lobster dinnerWe invited our new Events Manager, Lindsay, over for what she later called the best lobster she’d ever had! When you live here in the Wonderful World of Whiteway, clearly, seafood is as fresh as it gets! (And don’t forget, our Spring Special is still available until June 11!)

Lindsay Had a Little Lamb

Herding our goats at The Doctor's HouseLindsay, our new Events Manager, has barely been here a week, and she’s settling in nicely. She recently helped move our baby goats from their shelter, to join the rest of the flock (if you can stand the cute overload, see the video here). She’s a natural with the kids and lambs, and all the four leggeds around here.

Duck, Duck, Cute

Baby duckings at our farmThis Spring keeps getting cuter and cuter. This weekend we had a very important pick-up, that has increased the sweet-factor in the barn considerably: namely, 16 chicks and 7 ducklings! The chicks are in the greenhouse under a heat lamp, the ducklings are safely tucked away in the barn until they get a little bigger, and The Berry is in her glee! Make sure to stop by for a little ‘hello’ if you’re at The Doctor’s House soon!

New Breakfast Menu at The Doctor’s House!

Coffee with breakfastI’m excited about this one, because breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. And we’ve just released a new breakfast menu at The Doctor’s House. You don’t need to be an overnight guest to enjoy it either – just a fan of locally sourced and exquisitely prepared food! For more details, contact info@doctorshousenewfoundland.com, or just see below!

Happy Mother’s Day!

women at the doctor's houseHappy Mother’s Day to all you beautiful mothers out there! Here’s three beautiful mothers enjoying the cottages – The Berry, with her mom, and her daughter. Three generations of wonderful women I’m proud to now call family. God bless, and God bless all the mothers out there.

It’s a Big World

Pre-warned – this video is super cute, and super loud! Jack and Jill, our new baby goats, recently learned that it’s a big, big world out there. They’ve gotten big enough to join the rest of the herd – and join them they did!

Everyone took a few moments to adjust to the new hierarchy, but soon after, everything – and everyone – was back to normal. Jack and Jill are becoming more confident each day. So if you’re a guest at the inn, restaurant or spa at The Doctor’s House, make sure you stop by to see how they’re doing!

Finally, here’s a simple reminder that Dining at The Doctor’s House is open tonight and tomorrow, and you don’t need to be an overnight guests to dine with us. We hope to see you there!
