Here’s your last reminder – the Devotion Wedding show is this weekend! We’ll be there with bells on, and hope to see you there. It’s at the Glacier this Sunday, from 11-4pm, and don’t worry – they’ve got over 300 parking spaces. Come down, see if you’ll win one of the $20,000, and make your wedding planning easy. See you soon!
Spay Day
Mimi and Shadow – 2 out of count-em 4 cats who have AGREED to live with us – have just been spayed. They’re outdoor cats, so it was imperative they get the operation before the Spring – they’re already itching to get out. They found it a little stressful, of course, but they’re doing well, healing well, and ready to get back to their regularly scheduled hunting and playing. Next up on the spay schedule: Monkey and Zoe!
Look Where We Ate!
Maybe you can tell from my impromptu desk in the background, that the Shag It is far from fully operational at this point. But here’s a teaser of things to come! The Berry recently turned some leftover moose pasta sauce into her fabulous, more-ish Maritime Casserole (her own recipe, learned and perfected in P.E.I. many moons ago). I added some James Taylor, and together we had a fabulous evening. With good food, good company, lovely music and a great setting, how could we not?
Be sure to follow the Shag It on Facebook so you don’t miss the open this year!
Where Does the Time Go?
Here’s my oldest daughter, Adrienne, celebrating her recent birthday. She turned 35. I was 30 on that spectacular day she was born. She is everything a father could have asked for; I remember when at 14 she came and hugged me and said, “Dad, I love my life – Thank You.”
She is remarkable and I’m not just biased – she was just promoted to Director, Workplace Wellness for Healthcare Corporation of America – Virginia (a big deal). And she holds a Master’s Degree in Health Promotion with a certificate in Gerontology (perfect for me) from Virginia Tech. This week she’s heading to an important seminar in Nashville where I know she’ll shine.
Clearly, I’m smitten – like I am with all three of my beautiful daughters. I just wish that she lived closer, but I am grateful to live in the era of Skype! If you have grown children, I’d love to know in the comments – are they doing what you imagined they’d be? If they live away, do you stay in touch as much as you’d like?
One Month Left!
Now that March is here, here’s a friendly reminder – there’s only one month left to Stay In ‘N’ Stay Warm! Stay In ‘N’ Stay Warm of course is our popular and fabulously cozy winter special, complete with movies, firewood, and a continental breakfast for two. And a later checkout makes snuggling so much easier! To learn more or make a reservation, please email info@oceandelightcottages.com. And stay cozy!
Sunset Sunday: Golden
Snow Days Past and Present
My oldest daughter, Adrienne, recently shared this picture on Facebook, and it’s worth repeating! She was enjoying an uncommon snowday for her part of the world (lucky thing lives in the South!), and spent some of her time off going through old family photos. And clearly inspired, this is the result! We hope however you’re spending this weekend, you get to spend some time with your loved ones. The memories really are all that matters.
Won’t Be Long Now
Here’s what’s turning into our weekly reminder for the Devotion Wedding Show, coming up March 8. Can you tell we’re excited? We know there’s lots of great sponsors lined up this year, and we’re happy that The Doctor’s House is among them. We had a great time and met lots of wonderful brides at last year’s, and we’re looking forward to more of the same. Hope to see you there!
