Happy Canada Day from all of us here at Ocean Delight! I’m celebrating with a short post – which might be all the break I get, given our busy summer schedule. Here’s an old shot captured by Clifford George, of a pair of moose strolling through the mean streets of Whiteway. Of course, they’re big animals and you should keep your distance, but they’re quite majestic and fun to spot, too – and just about as pure ‘Canada’ as you can get!
Happy Canada Day!
Happy Canada Day from the big and growing Ocean Delight crew! Whether you’re at our place or yours, we hope you’re able to pull up a chair today, relax, and be grateful that we live in this peaceful and prosperous country. And maybe you’ll (safely) enjoy some fireworks, too.
Thanks for Shag It Executive Chef Cate Dore, for taking the photo of these yummy treats, and for offering them last weekend!
Murphy’s Beach
Murphy is so sweet and loves the water so much we’ve decided to build him a beach of his own! Part of the beach in front of our house and Whiteway cabin-rentals was not navigable with rocks and boulders everywhere. And we also needed a lot of rocks to make Murphy’s Wharf (another work in progress). When the steam shovel removed the rock, puff, there was a beach – and it will be a nice one when it’s finished, and great wharf, too.
And we have four guests showing up today and the Farmer’s Market opens tomorrow in Heart’s Content and it’s Canada Day weekend. Thanks to the rain over the last few days they have lifted the fire and fireworks ban.
So it’s going to be a great weekend!
