I Have It in Writing

Heartfelt Note for a Newfoundland father

This Sunday I thought I’d try something different from my regular sunset posts, to show the only thing more meaningful to me. I was going through some stuff yesterday when I came across this. As you can see from the inscription, it was given to me 10 years ago.

10 years is about a third of my beautiful daughters’ lives but little in mine. A lot of water has gone by. I know lots of parents love this book and the reason why is obvious – because always as long as our children are living, our babies they’ll be. God bless.Beloved Children's book by Robert Munsch

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

You know I like to keep this blog Ocean Delight-centric, but since it’s Christmas Eve I hope you’ll allow me this personal indulgence. If you know me, you know nothing compares in my life to my three beautiful children. And some of my dearest Christmas memories are of reading them ‘The Night Before Christmas’ on Christmas Eve. When they were younger, they listened in rapt attention – and when older, as you can see, I felt a little more free to add my own irreverent verses. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and that you enjoy your families as much as The Berry and I do and are creating some lasting memories. Merry Christmas from Ocean Delight.

Cutest Easter Bunny (or, Happy Easter!)

Today is a day for rejoicing and spending time with family (some would also say eating chocolate, though I’m not a huge chocolate lover – shocker!), so today’s post is a just a short oldie but goodie. Here’s my youngest daughter, Kathryn, years ago, making what I think is the cutest Easter Bunny yet. Hope you’re all enjoying you family, or, if you’re like me and all your children live away, able to chat with them and cherish your memories. Happy Easter!
