Since Joe Friday took Dog Friday under his wing a few months ago, they’ve become fast friends. With a dog as sweet as Friday, it would be impossible not to fall in love. Thanks to Chef Anna Dohey, who has prepared the menu for our gourmet New Year’s Eve feast, for the great shots.

Tuesday with Murphy: Merry Christmas Eve!
My humans seem to think that Christmas is a time of extra indulgence, plenty of rest and extra time for loved ones. Friday and I won’t argue with that! We love our ‘couch time’ with The Berry (or Jerry, of Joe, or pretty much any warm body that wants to snuggle up). So as you wait for Santa tonight (we’re excited for the 8 exotic four leggeds that should be flying by!), I hope you have someone to cuddle with, too.
Tuesdays with Murphy: Hiking with Friday
Days like we had this weekend, I like to count my four-legged blessings. Friday and I took Jerry and The Berry on a nice long hike in the freshly fallen snow and beautiful winter sunshine. Then we all relaxed with Christmas music and Christmas movies at our cottages in Long Point Cove. I can see why our BOGO offer is booking up quickly – what a wonderful way to create some special memories with your loved ones during the holiday season.
Thankfully, even since Friday’s been welcomed into the Ocean Delight family, our circle of loved ones continues to grow. It is so much fun to finally have another four-legged as we bound the trails! (And remember, if you’re interested in the BOGO yourself, you only have til tomorrow to make your reservation!).
Tuesdays with Murphy: Best Buds
I was thrilled when Friday, this sweet new golden retriever, joined our Ocean Delight family – I knew we were going to get along great! However, Molly, Joe’s Devon Rex, is quite the character (is that what you call ‘damning with faint praise?’). We’ve grown to love each other, but I wasn’t sure how she was going to take to a new comer.
Turns out, she’s taken to him swimmingly! Looks like Friday warmed her heart much quicker than even I could, and the two are happy to cuddle and relax together at Joe’s new spot at The Doctor’s House (which has just extended its spa specials, by the way!).
Today Jerry, one of my two best buds, is speaking at a luncheon for Irish Loop Chamber of Commerce – wish him luck!
Tuesdays with Murphy: New Brother!
What a fun weekend this has been. The Berry did some more of her famous Kijiji work and found another golden retriever looking for a forever home. Lynn loved her golden, but needed to find him a new, good home. And I can certainly attest to one thing – Ocean Delight is a dog’s paradise. The new dog (and mini-me) is living with Joe, who has named him Friday (how fitting!).
We can tell he misses Lynn, but he’s settling in well. We’ve been on some great walks already. I was looking for an assistant for my duties in Guest Relations – I think Friday is going to do quite well! He’s Joe’s first dog, and I am sure they are going to be best friends. Molly, his cat, wasn’t too please at first, but he’s warming up to it.
So please join me in welcoming Friday to the family! And we can’t thank Lynn enough for trusting us with her beautiful pet. 
Tuesdays with Murphy: Cousin Jayson
Of course I love all our guests and take my duty as Guest Relations Manager quite seriously. But my job is always just that little bit more fun when family comes to visit. This is Jerry’s nephew, Jayson. I guess that makes him my cousin? Either way, he doted on me, I doted on him, and it was fun to have him around!
Jayson was visiting Ocean Delight for a weekend getaway, only about an hour outside Torbay, where he’s from. If you’d like your own retreat, remember that we’ve got some great fall specials, both at Ocean Delight and at The Doctor’s House. I hope to see you soon!
Tuesdays with Murphy: Dogs and Their Sticks
There’s nothing better than a good stick, and a good friend to share a romp in the ocean. Here’s me and Bandit, a good friend who came to visit not too long ago. Personally, I’d rather chew on a stick on a bone, and I think Bandit feels the same way!
I’m hoping to have some more friends come and join me, now that we have some fall packages on the go. There’s still so much for a four-legged to get into out here, even though summer’s over!
Tuesdays with Murphy: Murphy and the Lighthouse
You don’t need to convince me to go on a day trip exploring something new. The Heart’s Content Lighthouse was built in 1901 and is a Recognized Federal Heritage Building. At only about a half hour’s drive from the cottages, it’s a great place to explore. For a full list of historic landmarks near us, please see here – or guests can simply ask us! And The Berry’s been working on some great fall packages that are worth checking out, too.
Tuesdays with Murphy: Me and Daniel
Some days are fun at Ocean Delight, and some days at out of this world. This young family came to the Shag It Cafe on what would have been the birthday of their own late, beloved Golden Retriever, Riley. I never got to meet Riley, but after spending time with them I know he must have been very loved! Of course my favourite part of the evening? Playtime with Daniel!
Tuesdays with Murphy: For the Dogs
People often tell me I could have been a show dog, and who am I to argue? Alas, it’s a working life for this dog, making sure our guests are happy and taken care of. But if you’re a dog lover, you might be interested in a dog show coming up, alerted to us by Albert Legge, who’s good friends with Jerry and The Berry.
