Another incredibly sweet one from fantastic photographer Bud Vincent. He captured these three lambs on Random Island. He says he did not bother them, and they did not bother about him. Too cute! And just goes to show – you never know what you’ll find in Newfoundland!
Little Boat Across the Harbour
I just saw a little boat go across the harbour on a rainy, foggy morning, and I was drawn to yesteryear. At least for the time being, we here ‘around the bay’ are living in the past, present, and future – a rare trinity. It seems so fitting to live in Trinity Bay: an hour from St. John’s – a million miles from everywhere.
I lived long and gone far and seen my fair share of the world. Now I live in the trinity of my life right here in Trinity Bay. In the quiet of a rainy, foggy morning – it doesn’t get much better than this!
Ocean Delight Sunset
Ocean Delight Sunsets – falling in love with this view is what started us on this journey, with Ocean Delight, The Doctor’s House, now the Shag It Cafe and Gift Shop. How can you see this and not fall in love, not figure out a way to spend more time here?
Sunset Sunday: A Guest’s View
This beauty of a shot was captured by our guests Mike and Gloria. We loved having them, and, as they shared with us, they loved being here. Happy guests are what make this job so worthwhile. That, and our beautiful sunsets.

Puffins, Puffins, Puffins
My daughters just love puffins – and really, who doesn’t? In fact, I know of my daughters goes on whale watches in Newfoundland, more to watch these little guys struggling to take off and fly so cutely overhead, then she does to see the whales.
So puffin-watching is quite popular in Newfoundland, and so is puffin photography. Every gift shop in downtown St. John’s sells postcards and posters adorned with the little guys. But I have to say (and I’m not biased!) that these pictures, from good friend and great photographer Bud Vincent, are some of the best I’ve seen. Enjoy!
Running with the Herd at The Doctor’s House
We are surrounded by wonder and beauty at The Doctor’s House and the Wonderful World of Whiteway. Between Murphy, the ponies, the chickens, the flowers, the trees, the ocean, the trails, Shag Rock, Long Point Cove …. I don’t know which is more beautiful. It’s an embarrassment of riches, and this you can be sure of – we don’t take any of it for granted. Here’s The Berry tending to the horses – truly a labor of love!
Thankfully, my daughter is in town to share it, and we get to celebrate her birthday today – Happy Birthday, Kathryn!
Tuesdays with Murphy: New Trails
You know me – always up for an adventure. That’s why I was thrilled when I was able to convince Jerry and The Berry to check out D’Iberville Trail on a fun day trip. It was an easy walk with great vistas – what more could a four-legged ask for? Any guests staying with us – please ask if you’d like some recommendations for similar things to do near the cottages, and please also see our Things to Do section. Just doing my job as Manager of Guest Relations!

Budding Saturday: Too Cute!
I think this is probably the sweetest Budding Saturday picture Bud Vincent has ever sent me! He says it’s a baby spotted sandpiper, a bird that frequents the shoreline constantly. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a baby one before – I think I’d remember a face that cute!
