Yes, I have a now well documented love of sunsets here on this gorgeous island of ours. But trust me – I don’t need the extra fireworks to make the view worth it. Here’s our beautiful view at The Doctor’s House, on a fine, fall afternoon. It’s all I need to see to fall in love with the place all over again. I’d be remiss if I didn’t remind you about current special at Ocean Delight – it’s been quite popular this year, and we’re closing our Heart’s Delight cottages November 14 – so you’ve only got a few weeks left to take advantage there!

Thankful For Family Visits
If you know me, you know nothing is more important to me that family. Which is why it was so nice to see Lindsay have some CFAs (that’s come-from-aways!) up for a visit. Her mom, Jackie, and her aunts, Tonya and Shirley, all came to the Wonderful World of Whiteway, and it was a lovely thing to see. I’m sure she wishes they could be with us all the time.
So, on this day after a day of thanks, I hope you’re able to hold your loved ones close, whether in person or in spirit, and be grateful for the blessings all around us! 
Oh So Thankful
A small blogging break to celebrate this day of celebrating. But not without posting one thing for which I’m always, supremely, completely and eternally grateful for – the beautiful sun setting over Shag Rock. Have a beautiful Thanksgiving, all, be safe, and hold your loved one close.

I take lots and lots of photos, and I like to think that I’ve gotten better over the course of writing this blog. But of course, I know my place in the talent-order, and I can appreciate a beauty when I see it. This picture was taken by Dave, an old colleague, who stayed with us this past summer. He shared this picture with me, and now I’m happy to share it with you, because who doesn’t love a nice sunset shot on a Sunday morning?
What a Weekend!
What truly wondering long weekend – I hope yours was as good as ours!
We had lovely crowds come join us at both the Shag It and at Dining at The Doctor’s House, as Neil Simmons took the stage, and fantastically so, in both locales. Lots of dancing, lots of laughing, and lots of good times ensued. We’re thrilled that Neil has joined Charlie to make our Shag It Sundays even better, and we’re happy to report that he’ll be back at The Doctor’s House next Friday, too.
We were also blessed to have many new and old friends join us, which always makes time lighter. A special thanks to our Premier Paul Davis and his wife Cheryl for stopping by the Shag It – it was an honour and a treat, and Paul couldn’t get over the view!
So on this Labour Day, we were truly reaping the rewards of a season of hard work, and it felt great! Stay tuned for more!

Wow. I share photos of Shag Rock here on the blog all the time (especially on Sundays), and I’ve never come close to getting a shot as perfect as these. You might remember Alicia and Jonathan, who recently got married at The Doctor’s House. As part of their gorgeous photo shoot, the always fab Jennifer Dawe Photography brought them here. Two Guests – One View
Look closely, and you can see two guests enjoying a Wonderful World of Whiteway view. Clearly, I’m not the only one gobsmacked by the glory of nature, especially here on this beautiful island of ours. We’re having a lovely fall so far – almost making us for our terrible summer. We’re finding many guests out late at night, lingering by their fires and their s’mores and their sunsets. Makes for a lovely evening, that’s for sure!

I have to admit it – I’m a male of a certain age, and although I have three beautiful daughters, none of them have had weddings. So before started hosting our own last year, I had no idea how truly stunning they can be. I’m continually amazed by the work that our couples put into their special days, and with the beautiful results. I’ve also been amazed at the skills of all the wedding professionals we work with – like Jennifer Dawe photography, who shot the photos you see here.
So, again, we congratulated Alicia and Jonathan – theirs was a lovely wedding, for an even lovelier couple. We wish them all the best, and highly recommend you check out all their gorgeous photos here.
A View
You gotta love a view. At least we do – the view may in fact be the entire reason we embarked on this Ocean Delight journey. Sam snapped this picture, and like usual, she has a great eye. Reminds me that we’ve got another great view lined up for this afternoon – this time of Charlie Crocker playing live at the Shag It, today from 3-5pm. There’s no cover, our chicken, cheese and broccoli casserole is on special, and of course, we’ve got our world class view. Maybe we’ll see you there!
