Summer Hours at the Shag It, plus new Senior Discount!

As everyone recovers from what we hope was a fantastic Canada Day, we have some fun news. Starting this Thursday, we’ll be moving to new Summer Hours at the Shag it. We’ll now be open Thursday through Monday, from 11-7pm. Executive Chef and Backyard-Gardener Extraordinaire Cate Dore has tweaked our fabulous, fresh menu, and, we’re happy to announce that Fridays and Mondays we’ll also be offering a 10% Seniors’ Discount. Delicious food made from scratch, fabulous views and 10% off – who can resist that??

Shag It Reviews (Again)

Maybe we’ve been waxing poetic too much lately about the Shag It, but we have been thrilled this year with the wonderful work Cate is doing, both in running and managing our cafe, and in creating really delicious, really fresh and fun food. Thankfully, our guests like to wax poetic, too. Here’s our guest board again – we’re so happy that they’ve been happy. Our favourite compliment? “Real food.” Hear, hear.

Second Weekend at the Shag It

It’s hard to believe that summer is finally here – but here it is, and an open Shag It Cafe proves it. This is the second weekend that Cate Dore has run our beautiful cafe this year, serving guests – to great acclaim, we might add – from the beautiful new menu she’s created. The Berry and I will definitely be popping down for a bite – hopefully we’ll see you there!

Great Opening

We had a great first weekend at the Shag It, officially kicking off our Summer 2014 season. The weather cooperated, and look at this view from our patio (!). Our new chef, Cate Dore, developed and presented a beautiful new menu that was a big hit. The Berry and I had some ourselves and were blown away. Thanks to Cate, and thanks to all the guests who came out and made our first weekend a success. The Shag It is open today for the the Victoria day holiday. Our regular hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11-7pm. We hope to see you soon!

Hunt Family Reunion

Meet the lovely Hunt family, who, as part of a family reunion, joined us at the Shag It Cafe and Gift Shop. For a new operation, we are just learning how to accommodate large groups. Serving the Hunts was a challenge, but a fun one, and I think we rose to the opportunity! They were a great group of people, we’re thrilled they chose to come, and we wish them well!
