Bubble Bath by the Sea

our Newfoundland cottageHere’s another picture of the stunning Cranberry cottage, this time taken by Dining at The Doctor’s House Chef Cate (and yes, her culinary skills are even better than her photography ones!). We’ve had a request by a lovely guest coming to stay with us this November to share more photos of the rest of the cottage, and we’ll oblige soon. But for now, let us bask in the beauty of a bubble bath by the sea! And don’t forget, our Couple’s Fall Getaway special makes a trip here even more romantic – please check it out!

Dressed to the Nines

Wedding show in NewfoundlandJerry’s so excited about weddings at The Doctor’s House that he’ll do just about anything to spread the word – even if that means donning tux and top hat like he did to the recent Ultimate Bridal Show! We had a great day and got to meet lots of great people. If you’re one of the brides who stopped by, thanks so much for getting in touch, and stay tuned – we’ll be drawing from your names for the big winner soon!

Blurry, but Nice!

Hopeall Point at our Newfoundland resort inn and spaAfter a long day of work, this is my favourite place to retire – at Hopeall Point, on the oceanfront of our property at The Doctor’s House. We have some chairs here, and it’s so restorative – especially on a beautiful fall evening, like when I took this picture. It’s a little blurry, but no picture could it justice anyway. I always recommend that our Doctor’s House couples come down here, alone, the night before their wedding, to reflect and connect before their big day. Because it’s pure magic, and I can’t think of a better way to kick off a new life together. Happy Saturday.

Get Knitting in Brigus this September 9!

BrigusIf you love Brigus (who doesn’t) and knitting (many of us do!), then there’s a fun event coming up next Tuesday. The Landfall Trust of Brigus asked us to pass along the following info, and we’re more than happy to do so!

Family Getaway

Mother and Daughter at Shag RockAmy is a former colleague of Jerry’s, so it was a special treat to have her bring her parents for a family getaway at our Cranberry cottage last weekend. We love all our guests, of course, but it’s always fun to catch up with old and dear friends. Amy hasn’t changed (and that’s a very good thing!), but she’s expanding her business as a Writer and Communications Specialist, so it was fun to hear about her plans.

The Cranberry has two bedrooms, making it ideal for multi-generational family getaways. And with Shag Rock offering the perfect photo-op off your back deck, you’re sure to get some great pics for remembering your weekend away. Thanks to Amy for sharing this one, which we also suspect may end up framed on her mantle!

And please don’t forget, we have some great fall specials that make a trip to the Cranberry, and all our luxury cottages, even better!

Glowing Cranberry

Ocean Delight Cottages honeymoon suiteThanks to our old friend, Amy, for sharing this stunning photo, captured on her recent trip to Ocean Delight. This, of course, is The Cranberry , our newly built, two-story and two-bedroom honeymoon suite. Guests here enjoy a fully equipped eat-in kitchen, premium furnishings, upper and lower decks, a barbecue and fire pit, and this a 2-person soaker tub – and yes, that is ocean as far as the eye can see. Please remember we have a Couples’ Fall Getaway Special that lets you experience all the romance yourself, so check it out – you and your partner won’t regret it!

New Fall Specials – at Ocean Delight, and The Doctor’s House!

firepit at our newfoundland cottage rentalsMaybe it’s just us, but when we think about Fall, about the cooler nights that ask for fires and cuddling, the long walks through the fallen leaves, the hot chocolate and warm cider …. it makes us think about romance! And so The Berry came up with some great specials, both at Ocean Delight and at The Doctor’s House, for couples to enjoy a night or two away, kindling the fire and rekindling the love! To learn more about our Couples’ Fall Getaway at Ocean Delight, please see here, and to learn more about our Date Night to Remember at The Doctor’s House, please see here. And start feeling the love!

Sunset Sunday: Enjoying the Long Weekend!

Sunset at our Newfoundland resortHere’s a quick post to say that we hope you’re enjoying your long weekend. Here’s a beautiful sunset over beautiful Green’s Harbour at The beautiful Doctor’s House. We’ve been busy this weekend (weekends are always busy – and that’s a very good thing!), and we also have some really great Fall Specials lined up. So here’s to a great (and busy) fall!

Summer’s Last Hurrah

Gardens at The Doctor's House

Since this is the last long weekend of the summer, we know it will soon be time to say bye-for-now to our beautiful gardens at The Doctor’s House. They’re been a highlight this season, as we’ve lived here and gotten acquainted with this beautiful property. Thankfully, we’ve got lots of walking trails, lots of trees, and lots of beauty coming as we get into fall. But for now, here’s one last celebration of our beautiful flowers! And thanks again to Shirley George for the lovely photos.
