You might remember that The Berry recently came up with a fun new idea for this upcoming season – The Doctor’s Last Minute Club. It’s for fans and friends who live close enough to be able to take advantage of last minute deals and specials at The Doctor’s House. And we’ve just rolled out our first special – this weekend only (Friday and Saturday nights), we’re offering all available rooms at The Doctor’s House for $99 (plus tax and gratuities). It’s first come, first serve – so Club Members got the leg up this morning!

Make sure you don’t miss the next special by signing up here. Remember, too, that our popular Dining at The Doctor’s House is up and running to much acclaim, and we have some spa openings this weekend too. We hope we see you soon!

Spa Positions at The Doctor’s House

Spa at our Newfoundland resortEven on holiday, we’re always thinking ahead, and making sure we’re ready for our best – and busiest – summer season yet. That’s why we’ve added a new employment section to The Doctor’s House website. We’re looking for enthusiastic employees eager to join a good team in a great location with lots of perks. In particular, we’re looking for Massage Therapists & Aestheticians, for both full time and part time work. Aveda experience is an asset. Counting Down the Days

Room at our newfoundland inn and spaWe’re getting close to Christmas, and that means there’s not much time left to take advantage of our gift certificates for The Doctor’s House. We’ve come up with some great packages to make gift-giving easier (or, if you like, you can always just give a certificate for a dollar amount, that your recipient can use however she likes). Our Whiteway Newfoundland cottages are staying open all winter, but next weekend will be our last at The Doctor’s House until the Spring – so make sure to come on down while you still can!

August Specials at The Doctor’s House

This month we’re featuring a Stay and Spa Package, great for couples, as well as reduced prices on all rooms from Monday to Wednesday nights.

We’ve Got Places to Go!

Places to GoIt was a big thrill and an honour to have NTV come out to The Doctor’s House last week to film a spot for Places to Go with Sharon Snow. Didn’t Jerry do a good job showing off the grounds? Of course, it’s not hard to make them look beautiful, but we’re grateful to Sharon Snow and the whole crew for the great, professional experience, and for helping us get the word out. Congrats to our Wedding Show Winners

Welcome to the Doctor's HouseIn preparation for our upcoming first wedding season at The Doctor’s House, we’ve been getting to know future brides and grooms at some local wedding shows – and having lots of fun doing it. We’ve been drawing for a Spa and Stay Package – meaning, after each show, one lucky winner receives a a free one-night stay with complimentary bottle of wine, plus breakfast for two and two Aveda spa services (this package is available to all guests who request it – check it out!).

Still Time for Valentine’s Plans

Celebrating Valentine's Day at our Newfoundland cottagesSince this is a daily blog about life at the cottages, sometimes we like to write about upcoming events both here and at The Doctor’s House – because promoting the Wonderful World of Whiteway is part of what we do each day! That’s why I want to let you know that we still have room left for our Valentine’s package at The Doctor’s House. Similar to our New Year’s Event, we’ll be having an exquisite gourmet dinner, and we’ve made it easy for you to up the romance with some spa deals. And, as is the case for the rest of the winter, book one night there and the second is $99. I have to give all credit to The Berry for coming up with our specials and planning them – she’s fantastic.

Winter in Whiteway ….

Fire in winter in rural Newfoundland

…. is cozy and warm, good for a fire, great for the soul, and, in a word, magical. Thanks to Leonard Howlett, a Newfoundland artist whose work we feature in our gift shop at The Doctor’s House, for capturing the season here so stunningly. We stay open during the winter, because we know a stunning getaway just an hour outside St. John’s is something people need and love all year round. Remember that we’ve extended our spa packages at The Doctor’s House to last all winter, and, also at the Inn, we’re offering buy one night, get the second for $99 for January-March. It’s our way to make your winter a little warmer.
