Sunset Sunday: On Stopping

sunset at our cabins in newfoundlandBusy summer, busy summer. That means I’m not slowing down to smell the roses (literally all around me at The Doctor’s House) and take in the sunsets like I should be. My daughter was here last week, which forced me to stop for a bit and …. it was wonderful. So I’m going to try to pause a little more here in the Wonderful World of Whiteway, and enjoy all that’s around me. Happy Sunday.

A Day for Family

grandmother and granddaughter If you’re like us, Sunday is for family. My daughters all live away, so that means this is the day I always make sure to call and check in on their lives. And luckily for The Berry, both her children – and her only, beautiful granddaughter – all live in town – so she gets to see them quite regularly (remember, we’re only an hour’s drive outside St. John’s here at the cottages).

Of course, now that the summer season is full on (this is our first weekend with the Guest House open!), we often have to work full days on Sundays. So I hope your Sunday is a little more relaxing than I suspect ours will be – and regardless I’m sure we’ll get to pause and spend a few minutes with the ones who matter most to us. Enjoy!

Sunday Morning Sleep In

Sleeping in in NewfoundlandHow do you spend your Sunday mornings? Ours, as you can see, are lazy, and filled with furry things. Sunday mornings were made for sleeping in (that’s why we’ve got late checkout on our Spring Specials), just like Sunday afternoons were made for House of Cards marathons (what I hope to enjoy today), and Sunday evenings were made for good meals with good company and good wine. Here’s to yours.

Putting Your Feet Up!

Relaxing at our Ocean Front Cottage rentalsThere is nothing like putting your feet up at the end of a long day, especially when you can enjoy the sun setting on Hopeall Bay. Here we are enjoying another amazing sunset with the ponies in the foreground, trees in front of that and the Atlantic in front of that. We hope you’re enjoying weekend, and that you’ve found a moment to relax and enjoy all that surrounds us – we’re truly blessed to live in this beautiful province.Relaxing at our Newfoundland resort inn and spa
