Sunset Sunday: Purple Enough?

Sunset at our Newfoundland resort inn and spaBeautiful sunsets here in Green’s Harbour. Beautiful sunsets here on the Baccalieu Trail. Beautiful sunsets here in Newfoundland. The Berry and I try to take a deep breath and experience each one from our balcony – it gives us the energy we need for the next day. Enjoy.

Happy Father’s Day!

sunset in rural newfoundlandWe’ve got some families celebrating Father’s Day with us, so we’d like to extend our well wishes to them, and to all our readers. We hope you’ll all get to spend some quality time with the kiddos, and some quiet time, too! All I want or need these days is a bit of R&R at the end of the day – a beautiful sunset thrown in helps, too. Thankfully, there’s lots of that out here on the Baccalieu. We’re truly blessed.

And please don’t forget, if you’re looking for some last minute plans, we’ve got a great Three Course Roast Beef Dinner for Dad, lined up at the Shag It!

Gorgeous Green’s Harbour

Sun setting in rural Newfoundland at our Newfoundland resort inn and spaLast Sunday we shared a picture of the sun setting in Green’s Harbour, and it’s such a beautiful sight out here we had to share one again. The Berry and I have recently moved to The Doctor’s Study, a sweet little home at The Doctor’s House, for the remainder of the summer. We’re less than a 5 minute drive from the cottages (making weekend trips to the Shag It easy!), and we’re enjoying the new surroundings – although we do miss being right on the ocean’s edge, of course. These sunsets though, prove that wherever you are in the province, you’re in for a treat at dusk!

Moonrise Sunday: Woody Point

Sunset in NewfoundlandThe Berry and I enjoyed a small road trip last week, finding ourselves in lovely Woody Point in the lovely Gros Morne, in the lovely Seaside Suites. We came here many moons ago and were inspired to begin our hospitality journey. Now, after a few days relaxation, we’re inspired for another busy – but great – summer season. This shot is blurry, and doesn’t capture the majesty, but serves to remind us of our beautiful nights. Like always, we’ll keep the magic of this moonrise in our hearts.

Happy Mother’s Day

Celebrating Mother's Day at our Newfoundland cottage rentalsHappy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms out there. We have some celebrating with us at Ocean Delight, and at our The Doctor’s House luncheon – and we’re more than happy to make their weekend getaways all that they deserve.

Of course, with The Berry, we have our own wonderful mother to spoil, too. And given all she does around here (trust us, it’s lots!), and all she does for so many – including her new granddaughter, and our menagerie of animals here in the Wonderful World of Whiteway – she really deserves it. Thankfully, we live at the ocean’s edge, which makes celebrating easy!

Pink Skies

Shag Rock in NewfoundlandAnother beauteous sunset set over the beautiful Shag Rock, off the shores of the Wonderful World of Whiteway. Captured from our oceanfront cottages. If you want peace of mind (and believe me, no one needs it like I do!) this is the spot. Hope your Sunday is relaxing and reflective – I hope mine will be.

SunRISE Sunday

Outside at our Newfoundland cottage rentalsOf course I love sharing gorgeous sunset shots – there’s something so soothing about watching the sun set over the ocean! But lets not forget how peaceful and magical it is at dawn, when the sun just peeks out and begins to warm the earth (however weakly these days). I’m not an artist of a photographer, but I know there’s something special about the early morning light. I always say – there’s beauty everywhere and every day in the Wonderful World of Whiteway!

Sunset Sunday: Very Bright

Sun Setting over the ocean at our Newfoundland cottage rentalsI think I pulled out my camera at just the right moment this day. The sun is still bright, casting a beautiful glow over the ocean, over Shag Rock, over Whitway, over our cottages. Moments like these, with or without a camera to capture them, I feel truly blessed and lucky to be alive. And grateful that we get to share this beauty with all our guests. And each other.
