Berry Happy

Hosts at a party in NewfoundlandIt’s been wet and wild lately, very busy, with more tasks than we know what to do with. Thankfully, we have a great team, and I have a great partner in crime. This picture was taken of me and The Berry at our New Year’s Eve party at The Doctor’s House. We have such a great night that we’ve decided to use our beautiful restaurant and dining room by the fire to celebrate another holiday – Valentine’s (you can read more about what we’re planning, here). It’s nice to have something to look forward to during the daily grind!

Announcing our Valentine’s Day Special

We had a such a fun time New Year’s Eve at The Doctor’s House, that we knew our intimate space and brilliant Chef Dohey could make a Valentine’s celebration that hit just the right notes. Thankfully, I have The Berry on our side to plan these intimate evenings, and we’ve put together a romantic package that we’re sure couples will enjoy.

First, the dinner. Chef Anny Dohey has come up with another 3-course stunning menu, this time featuring your choice of lamb and bouillabaise, with lots more. We’ll be offering it Fridays and Saturdays between February 14 and March 2, by reservation. The great news for guests of The Doctor’s House is that this dinner is included free in our packages. Non-guests are also welcome, assuming available space, for $49 per person (plus tax and gratuities). It’ll be a beautiful, memorable evening.

And to make it a beautiful, memorable getaway, please see our Specials and Packages page, where we include prices and options for your Valentine’s weekend. Again, these packages include free dinner and an option to upgrade with a couples massages, and they’re available from Valentine’s Day until March 2. Heart’s Delight in Heart’s Delight

We’ve been so busy updating the cottages – painting, redecorating, adding furniture – that we barely got to acknowledge Valentine’s Day last week, let alone celebrate. I actually spent that day painting the Blueberry Cottage with my younger brother, Joe – hardly romantic.

So tonight The Berry (Laurelyn) and I are going to Heart’s Delight to take make good on its namesake. Flower, wine, roses, and romantic dinner is planned. We are finally taking advantage of our own Valentine’s Special that we spent so much time promoting!

Maybe tomorrow we’ll see if Clifford George will take us out for one of his famous sleigh rides: [wpvideo Hi3wVDHn]
