You gotta love a view. At least we do – the view may in fact be the entire reason we embarked on this Ocean Delight journey. Sam snapped this picture, and like usual, she has a great eye. Reminds me that we’ve got another great view lined up for this afternoon – this time of Charlie Crocker playing live at the Shag It, today from 3-5pm. There’s no cover, our chicken, cheese and broccoli casserole is on special, and of course, we’ve got our world class view. Maybe we’ll see you there!
Work with a View
This pretty picture was captured by Samantha, our new front desk receptionist. It was the view yesterday morning – sunny and complete with Bridie and Shamrock, our Newfoundland ponies. Our team is growing, and we’re lucking to have many great people on board. We’re proud to offer a great work environment, just an hour outside St. John’s – and the view, and the walking trails and English gardens to explore on your breaks, are a bonus! We’re still looking for staff for our upcoming busy season – please see here to learn more or apply.
Here’s to Saturday!
Joe’s View
Joe has recently moved into a spot on our property at The Doctor’s House – and this is his view (!). He’s a lucky guy, and he deserves it, given all the great work he does. Remember, we have some great fall packages on, so this could be your view, too!
The Loon … and You???
Wine, a view, a warm place to watch the snow fall. It’s hard to believe I haven’t lived in the Wonderful World of Whiteway my whole life. We’re making it easier to share the experience with you with a New Years Special and a contest to win a free stay here. I hope some of my blog readers are able to take advantage and enter the contest – you might read about the cottages, but you gotta see ’em to believe ’em!
Radiant Sunsets
I should probably change the name of this blog from ‘Jerry by the Sea’ to ‘Jerry Watching the Sky’ given the number of posts I dedicate to sunsets. And if you’ll indulge me again, we had one the other night that begged to be photographed. Where ever I am I’m drawn to watch each evening, but here and now the cleanliness of the air and the cooling temperatures are making the sunsets more radiant than anything I have seen before.
When photographer Michael Hanson stayed with us, he told me that ‘real’ photographers don’t take pictures of sunsets or sunrises – they take pictures of their effects. I hope I captured some of that here. Not that I’m a ‘real’ photographer yet, but I’m trying!
