Led by Artistic Director, Danielle Irvine, Perchance Theatre at Cupids produces and presents classical theatre each summer in nearby Cupids, a breathtaking community with a long history. In fact, their outdoor performance space was built in celebration for the town’s 400 year anniversary in 2010, inspired by Shakespeare’s famous Globe Theatre in London, England.
Perchance Theatre is the province’s only professional classical theatre company, featuring some of our best stage actors and presenting stories reminiscent of John Guy’s England, particularly what the settlers might have seen, heard or written about in 1610.
Hi to all at the Ocean Delight Cottages. Just returned home from a wonderful two week holiday in Newfoundland, one week of which was spent at “The Cranberry” at Ocean Delight Cottages. It was a celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something special which was on our bucket list. Our hosts Lauralyn and Jerry were exceptionally gracious and made our stay the best ever. Thanks to the staff of Shag It Café, Paula, Tara and Shay lyn for providing us with excellent Newfoundland cuisine which we had never experienced before. Thanks also to Ashley for her help especially on the first day when the fixed our “shagged up” TV. It was athrill to spend an afternoon listening to Charlie Crocker sing Newfoundland songs and others. We used Ocean Delight as our base and explored the whole Baccalieu Trail including Bay de Verde, Carbonear, Bay Roberts, Cupids, Port de Grave and Brigus. We took hundreds of pictures in our travels which will provide exceptional memories. We had the best meals of fresh cod everywhere we went. We found that every Newfoundlander we met is genuinely friendly and a pleasure to talk to. This will be a memorable vacation and I wish everyone would experience it at least once.
